MAPLETON MAN DIES AT CHURCH

Mapleton - William Heber Jarvis, 88, 155 N. 1200 E., died Sunday of a heart attack while attending church.

He was born June 14, 1883 at Nutrioso, Apache County, Arizona, a son of Samuel Walter and Francis Godfrey Defriez Jarvis. He married Ruth Bloomfield in 1907 and she died in 1922. He married Ella Wall on Sept. 24, 1925 in El Paso, Texas.

He moved to the Mormon colonies in Mexico when he was six years of age. The family left temporarily during the Mexican Revolution, then returned in 1920. He had made his home in Mapleton since 1956, where he engaged in farming and ranching.

Mr. Jarvis was a counselor in the LDS Bishopric in Pacheco, Mexico and Miramonte, Arizona. He was an ordinance worker for 19 years in the Mesa, Ariz. and St. George, Utah Temples.
